Who we are

• Human Welfare Organization (HWO) is a non-political, registered development NGO in Bangladesh, founded by Dr. Suramoni Singha in 2000 and formally registered in 2007. We design and implement community-centered development solutions that strengthen socioeconomic resilience for underserved populations, including rural families, indigenous groups, and tea garden workers.
• From healthcare empowerment and quality education to renewable energy access and economic inclusion, HWO goes beyond short-term relief to build lasting impact at the grassroots. Our work includes primary health services, microfinance support, sustainable energy technologies like solar systems and improved cooking solutions, and vocational learning programs that equip communities to thrive.

• We tackle development challenges through innovative programs and strategic partnerships that deliver measurable outcomes. Our mission prioritizes dignity, sustainability, and community leadership so that vulnerable populations can drive their own futures.

Today, we are proud to provide HWO Drinking Water and manage the HWO Resort and Learning Center, a unique space combining hospitality with vocational training in computer operations, driving, and digital marketing. Our commitment to the community remains steadfast through active programs in Microcredit and Primary Health Care, turning future visions into modern realities.

As an NSDA-approved provider, HWO Learning Center offers certified training in Computer Operations, Digital Marketing, Housekeeping, Primary Health Care, English for Work, Web Design & Freelancing, Entrepreneurship, Tailoring, and Driving. Our three-month programs feature industry-standard curricula, monthly allowances for eligible trainees, and an on-site official examination venue in Sreemangal.

HWO Microcredit provides essential capital to underserved entrepreneurs and low-income families excluded from traditional banking. Our model focuses on responsible lending, particularly for women, to start and grow income-generating activities. By prioritizing accountability and grassroots enterprise, we foster self-reliance, household resilience, and measurable economic progress across the community.

HWO’s Non-Formal Education initiative provides essential literacy, numeracy, and life skills to underprivileged children, with a focus on girls lacking access to traditional schooling. Designed for underserved communities, this program builds the foundational confidence and knowledge necessary for vulnerable children to pursue independence and long-term opportunities.
